Essential Criteria
• Current practicing certificate
• Update knowledge on treatments and medical practices
• Knowledge of medical ethics and law
• Eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Demonstrates purposeful service excellence
• Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail
• A relatively high degree of analytical abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills required
• Ability to work independently

About the Hospital
This is a well-established public hospital which, provides Mental Health, Addiction, and Intellectual Disability Service; and local, regional, and national health services; neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care and community-based services including district nursing, rehabilitation services, social work, alcohol and drug services, and home support services.
The Registrar, working in the Emergency Room, is responsible for complete and accurate registrations, including the proper completion of required consent for treatment and payer compliance forms and the copying/scanning of patient insurance cards. The Registrar practices exceptional customer service and professionalism, manages the hospital incoming phone lines, when needed, performs pre-admission, insurance verification and certification, mail distribution, and data entry as assigned.
You will have a supportive training environment with dedicated teaching time, dedicated ACEM Exam tutorials with an exceptional pass rate in Primary and Fellowship, on the floor training, opportunity to do Work-based assessments (WBAs) and weekly simulation-based critical scenario teaching. As well as access to Orthopaedic, Paediatric, ICU and Anaesthetic rotations and an Emergency Ultrasound Registrar position accredited by ACEM for 6 months "special skills".
