We are looking for a quirky up-beat registered nurse to join our Radiology Nursing Team.
DHB is NZ’s 4th largest DHB with approximately 11000 employees and provides medical services to the central region. We also provide some specialised services to the whole of New Zealand and the Pacific region. Our approach is patient-centred healthcare, which means the needs of our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
Purpose of the position:
To meet the needs of patients and their family/whanau using contemporary nursing care which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is patient/consumer centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based.
Service Descriptor:
- Works in collaboration with Radiologists, Medical Radiation Technologist and wider Radiology Team
- Ensures client and family are involved in care as is appropriate within the parameters of radiation protection.
- Ensures procedural requirements are met in accordance with Radiology Department policies and protocols.
- Ensures all patients receive full explanations of procedures, questions answered and where necessary informed consent is obtained
- Ensures care needs are assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated as required, e.g. (but not exhaustive) in Interventional, CT, US, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy and general X-ray.
Education & Qualifications:
RGN; RGON; RPN; RCpN with or without BN or BHSc (Nursing)
Essential:
- A staff nurse will be able to demonstrate in their practice the following requirements for their level.
- Registration with Nursing Council (NZ) and evidence that they are competent to practice within the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
