Thus, we have got signed with few Public Health Boards that comes with the name DHB (District Health Board) that manages several Public Hospitals under their wing and have much Healthcare position available on their site looking for suitable candidates. The Medical Specialties ward at Our Hospital provides nurses with an opportunity to deliver care across a number of clinical specialties including:
- Renal
- Gastroenterology
- Respiratory
This role offers a unique opportunity for a child health registered nurse to develop their professional portfolio and clinical skills across a number of complex and often long term patients from neonates through to children up to the age of sixteen.
In Ward 26b we care for children under our national intestinal failure service, our paediatric hemodialysis service as well as children undergoing kidney and liver transplants. We also provide tertiary and quaternary care for children requiring sleep medicine and long term ventilator support.
Our children come from across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands providing a unique dynamic the requires not only technical expertise, but a holistic approach to the delivery of care and true multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure that children and their whanau receive care that is reflective of their individual needs.
Nurses are an integral part of our clinical team and are fully supported and acknowledged through a number of professional opportunities that support professional growth, and acknowledge the nursing contribution within child health, these include;
