About the Hospital
Our liaison psychiatry team comprises Consultant Psychiatrists; including liaison, addiction and neuropsychiatry specialists; Specialist Nurses, a Clinical Psychologist and excellent admin support. We provide teaching and training and supervise registrars and interns. We are a sociable and friendly team who enjoy working together and support one another.
We are the largest public hospital and clinical research facility and provides local, regional and national specialist services, including national services for transplant, high-risk obstetric care, epilepsy and deep brain stimulation.

The Role
Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and consultation to inpatients and patients in the emergency department. There is also scope to get involved in specialist liaison psychiatry outpatient work.
Eligibility Criteria
- Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry
- Registerable by New Zealand Medical Council as a Vocationally registered Specialist.
- FRANZCP or equivalent
Location
Auckland, based around 2 large harbours, is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. In the centre, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Near Downtown, Mission Bay Beach has a seaside promenade.
