Our hospital is the leading provider of paediatric care in New Zealand and the South Pacific, providing world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency, and urgent care to children and their whanau. It is a part of the District Health Board, New Zealand’s largest tertiary healthcare provider.
Primary Function
The primary function of this role is the provision of clinical cardiac care for children (and on occasion adults) with congenital and acquired heart disease, at a trainee specialist (Fellow) level, to PCCS patients under the care of the District Health Board at our Hospital. The Fellow will work with SMO and junior medical colleagues and the multidisciplinary team of nurses, technicians and other allied health staff, to ensure the delivery of optimal, evidence-based care for patients with cardiac disease.
The Fellow role will include care delivered to inpatients and outpatients and procedural duties (with appropriate supervision and training) including echocardiography and cardiac catheterisation.
