Do you have the experience, leadership and change management skills to step up into a challenging senior nursing role in the New Zealand mental health sector?
The Fraser McDonald Unit is a 15 bed acute admission unit and is part of the Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP). The MHSOP Community Team serves the same age group and works with service users from acute crisis through to continuing care.
If you are someone who takes a holistic approach to your clinical responsibilities, Join this. It will be imperative in this role that you show a genuine interest in the care for older adults and previous experience working in a mental health setting.
This role is responsible for providing effective and accessible professional nursing leadership that strengthens and supports the nursing structure, the multidisciplinary teams, service user outcomes and family/whanau participation in the context of quality, equity, and added value.
Remuneration is commensurate with the role. A professional development fund is also offered to support the successful applicant in expanding their clinical leadership skills and knowledge.
This is a unique opportunity to progress and accelerate the multiple work-streams already in place. The role recognises nursing’s contribution and seeks to put the profession front and centre in the transformation of services within Mental Health.

There is scope for the role to be combined with other nursing vacancies to enable us to offer a full time role to the successful candidate.
