The Surgical and Preoperative services at Hospital are seeking a senior nurse with:
- Recent child health nursing experience
- Excellent communication and observation skills
- An overriding passion for delivering high-quality nursing care to children, young people and their wh?nau who are to have surgery in Starship Hospital
This role provides a unique opportunity for a senior nurse to develop nursing expertise and skills in the management of the preoperative process and be part of the implementation of a brand new pathway that will improve care delivery to children, young people and their wh?nau.
The Nurse Specialist, Preadmission position is pivotal in the co-ordination of the preoperative process for patients scheduled for elective surgery, including anesthetic assessment. The role liaises with the multi-disciplinary teams and primary care providers to ensure all patients scheduled for elective surgery have an optimal plan that begins with their first appointment right through to discharge.
