The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at our Hospital is seeking a registered nurse who is currently working at the top of their scope in neonates and is looking to embark on the pathway to nurse practitioner.
This is an opportunity, through our nurse specialist intern programme to achieve the next step in your career.
We are looking for nurse who have:
- Completed a postgraduate diploma in neonates
- Current neonatal experience
- Exceptional professional drive and determination to deliver exemplary neonatal care
The NICU team provides intensive care services to newborns across the upper north island. We are the national service for newborns diagnosed with congenital cardiac lesions during the antenatal period and neonates requiring paediatric subspecialty services.
Nurses are an integral part of our clinical team and are fully supported and acknowledged through a number of professional opportunities that support professional growth, and acknowledge the nursing contribution within child health, these include;

- A clinical leadership structure that with full time Charge Nurses, Nurse Educators, Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners
