National Women's Hospital at DHB is the largest maternity hospital in Australasia, with approximately 7,500 babies born each year; it is a tertiary referral centre whilst also providing primary maternity care to women in the central area. The services are spread across the region to include community clinics, women’s homes, outpatient clinics and hospital care. A majority of women who birth at National Women’s are under the care of an independent midwife or obstetrician lead maternity carer (LMC).
We are seeking a midwife who is flexible with their time to provide cover in the Fetal Medicine Clinic. The days we mostly require your support are Monday, Thursday and Friday but this can change depending on how busy the clinic is. When not required in Fetal Medicine you will be required to help out in the Maternal Medicine Clinic. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in high risk midwifery.
Our midwives practice across the spectrum of maternity care from low risk women to those with complex medical and/or social needs.
Essential:
You need to either already be registered with or be eligible to gain registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
Minimum of 2 years post registration experience
Desired:
Previous Maternal/Fetal Medicine experience.
