Our client, based in South Auckland is the largest of New Zealand's public hospital by population and a significantly large employer, providing jobs for more than 7,000 people across the region.
Their people are a large part of the community they serve which makes them passionate about the health of the people living in it. They are a team of talented individuals working together to make a positive difference to the people they serve, to the communities they work in, and to each other.
With over 115,000 adult and paediatric patients per year, their Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Australasia. They are situated in a lower socio economic area and serve a high need population with high acuity presentations. They also provide secondary and tertiary care to patients from around the country and Pacific Islands have a dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department which is co-located with their Adult Department. Children and adolescents (under 18) are triaged to this department and they have dedicated resuscitation areas, procedure rooms, short stay area and assessment areas. They provide inpatient admissions for Paediatric Medicine, paediatric orthopaedics and short stay ICU patients. Their Emergency Department has been accredited for 6 months paediatric emergency medicine training by the Joint ACEM/ RACP training committee.
They have some great opportunities to join their dynamic team as a Fellow for 2019-2020.
As an ideal candidate for this Fellowship position, you will be a Senior Paediatric or Adult Emergency Medicine Trainee or Junior Specialist who is looking to advance your skills and acquire new skills. They would be interested in Emergency Medicine trainees from NZ, Australia, UK, USA, Canada or other countries with comparable EM training.
You should be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
