Our Hospital Paediatric Operating Theatres are looking for skilled, enthusiastic Anaesthetic Technicians (ODPs) with an interest in paediatrics to join our dynamic, fun and collaborative team.
Our Hospital is the leading provider of paediatric care in New Zealand and the South Pacific, providing world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency, and urgent care to children and their whanau. Every day our clinical and support teams work collaboratively to fulfil our mission to deliver world class patient and whanau-centered paediatric healthcare to all populations we serve. Our hospital is part of District Health Board, New Zealand’s largest tertiary healthcare provider.
We are committed to delivering whanau-centered care that focuses on the needs of the child first and values whanau as an important member of the care team. Anaesthetic Technicians clinical responsibilities cover the full range of paediatric anaesthesia for acute and elective surgical procedures in General, Cardiac, Thoracic, Urology, Endoscopy, Oncology, ORL, Dental, Spinal, Orthopaedic and Plastic surgery. We also provide paediatric anaesthetic support to children undergoing procedures in Radiology, CT, Radiotherapy, Angiography, Cardiac Investigation room (CIR) and MRI.
Experience in all clinical specialties is not essential; we’ll support you in the development of your clinical expertise.
The successful candidate(s) would be expected to participate in departmental activities, beyond the clinical work-load of the department such as education, simulation, administration, quality and safety. Support for ongoing study and attendance at conferences is provided.
