Client Profile
You will have the opportunity to gain subspecialty experience in a leading tertiary referral unit. We are New Zealand's largest gynaecology oncology centre and a busy tertiary obstetric centre. As a result, you will be involved in the care of many complex cases from around New Zealand. This position is primarily clinical with sessions available for research and teaching.
Ideally, you are likely to have completed your anaesthesia examinations and be nearing the end of your training or have recently completed a formal anaesthesia training programme but are seeking additional structured training in obstetrics and gynaecology.
The Role
- To provide a broad exposure to the sub-speciality of Obstetric and Gynaecologic Anaesthesia.
- To develop a consultant approach to patient assessment and the conduct of anaesthesia, as well as the opportunity to develop and improve teaching and research skills
Eligibility Criteria
- Annual Practising Certificate.
- Anaesthetist at pre or immediate post-specialist registration level
- Registration with MCNZ as a Medical Practitioner
- Conscientious and responsible doctor.
- Able to judge the need for consultation and supervision,
- Able to work with ANZCA level 3 and 4 supervision.
- Open to bicultural concepts.
- Willing to take on consultant type responsibilities and workload.
- Able to work hours as required.
- Able to offer a commitment for 6 or 12 months to be mutually agreed between the candidate and department.
