Client Profile
The Adult and Emergency Division of Anaesthesia is the regional and national provider of anaesthesia and perioperative medicine for these specialities and provides high-quality anaesthesia for very complex patients. Our team is innovative and progressive. You will be mentored and encouraged to develop a consultant approach to patient assessment and the conduct of anaesthesia, as well as having the opportunity to develop and improve teaching, audit and research skills.
We also offer a wide range of opportunities to learn new clinical skills, such as ultrasound-guided regional blockade, TOE and exposure to sophisticated pre-operative assessment techniques. The post is recognised for the provisional fellowship year (PFY) for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
Eligibility Criteria
You will be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Location
Downtown Auckland, or Auckland Central, is a commercial district with mainstream fashion stores along Queen Street, and trendy boutiques and oyster bars in the heritage buildings of Britomart. The Sky Tower offers views over the Hauraki Gulf, while the Auckland Art Gallery displays paintings of Maori leaders. Central Aotea Square hosts craft fairs and concerts.
