About the Hospital
This is a great opportunity for GPs or medical officers to gain exposure to emergency and acute care medicine in a supported environment working alongside emergency specialists, registrars/SHOs, Clinical Nurse Specialists and an outstanding nursing team.
The Role
- Overseeing, coordinating and personally providing effective, clinically appropriate and safe assessment and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Providing professional, medical leadership within the Emergency Department.
- Creating an environment in which a high standard of clinical skills in Emergency Medicine are developed and maintained to provide quality patient care.
- Working within the organization and with all other referring agencies including General Practitioners to provide advice and collegial support so that all health resources are effectively and efficiently coordinated/managed to provide quality patient care.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current registration with the New Zealand Medical Council at Emergency Medicine Medical Officer level (or under supervision of a Medical Officer).
- Professional Medical Indemnity Insurance.
- ACLS Resuscitation skills current
- Recent clinical experience in Emergency or Acute Care Medicine.
