An opportunity exists for an experienced Child & Adolescent or Forensic Psychiatrist to join our exciting and innovative multidisciplinary team . RYFS provides consultation, assessments, Court ordered reports, Court based Liaison Services and short focused interventions for young offenders presenting to the youth justice system with mental health issues. We also provide mental health care for adolescent residents at the secure youth justice facility in South Auckland.
You will contribute to the delivery of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services .allowing you to thrive professionally in providing your clinical expertise and knowledge to most areas of young people's mental health. RYFS has a strong commitment to collaboration between young person, family, staff, and other services.
There are also opportunities for interagency liaison, training, and to contribute to on-going service development. If successful, you will also be involved in our on call roster of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists from across the Auckland region. At present there are a good number of consultants involved so this need not be greatly demanding.
This is a permanent, full time (or part time) position and based at Kari Centre (CAMHS), Greenlane Clinical Centre.
Education/Achievements
- Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, registrable by New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist.
- Experience with child services
Experience/Knowledge
- Experience and interest in community care for patients (children and adolescents) with severe mental illness and conduct disorders.
- Experience in Juvenile Forensic Psychiatry an advantage
