A well-established public hospital & clinical research facility is looking for an experienced and hardworking Registered Consultant Psychiatrist to support the healthcare service it provides. You have to involve in providing specialist psychiatric assessment, consultation to inpatients, and patients in the emergency department; and get involved in specialist liaison-psychiatry outpatient work. The public hospital has a strong team of liaison, addiction & neuropsychiatry specialists, Specialist Nurses, a Clinical Psychologist. The public hospital provides the service of national services for transplant, high-risk obstetric care, epilepsy, and deep brain stimulation; provide teaching and training support for medical students.
Your duty involves creating treatment plans; has to visit the clinics and staff they collaborate and include involvement in urgent and planned assessments, planning and delivering care and treatment to those service users. The public hospital committed to the application of the Children's Act 2014 and its intent to improve the safety of all children. This position is a Children's Worker as defined by the Act.
Eligibility Criteria
- Being a registered consultant psychiatrist or Consultation-Liaison/Psychiatry of Old Age advanced certificate holders, or Adult/Addictions Psychiatry certificate holders with relevant experience
- FRANZCP eligible or equivalent
- Registration under the New Zealand Medical Council as a vocationally registered specialist
- Postgraduate qualifications in Consultant Psychiatrist
- 03 years of residency training in psychiatry
- Valid annual practicing certificate
- The ability to make safe judgments
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills & strong problem-solving skills
- Update knowledge on treatments and medical practices
- Knowledge of medical ethics and law
- Computer skills & self-management skills
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situation, and with various individuals or groups
