• Located in the Bay of Islands region
• Permanent full-time engagement
• Substantial support for continuing medical education
Essential Criteria
• Vocationally registered in psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
• FRANZCP or equivalent and be able to register for specialist registration with the MCNZ
• Eligible for registration and be able to gain locum tenens
• Maori culture and rural/community psychiatric experience
• Experience in working with inpatient and Community Mental Health Services
• Experience in providing clinical leadership to other psychiatrists in the team & multidisciplinary setting
• Relevant training and experience
• Have a current driver's license

About the Hospital
This is a well-established public hospital which, provides health services such as 29-bed inpatient services, child health, community rehabilitation services, cancer health, community physiotherapy services, district nursing services, radiology, maternity services, urology, sexual health services, speech-language therapy, oral health services, and community health services.
You will be providing high-quality diagnosis and treatment and follow up of mental health consumers and supporting the medical and psychiatric development of this service. You will be responsible for conducting community clinics, and clinical input into at Sub-Acute Unit.
