About the Hospital
At our hospital, clinical psychologists work as part of multidisciplinary teams to provide psychological assessments and interventions for service users of our teams. Clinical psychologists also provide a range of other services to support the development and function of our teams and the organization as a whole. We work closely with our children, adolescents and their families, NGO's and their Primary Care providers. You will also be provided with on-going support with clinical supervision and professional development opportunities.
The Role
This position involves the provision of clinical and team input as part of a multidisciplinary team that serves the mental health needs of the target population of our team. The provision of clinical services is a core activity of this role, and there is also an opportunity for innovative involvement and leadership in activities to support the development of improved services.
Eligibility Criteria
- Doctoral Degree or Masters plus Diploma of Clinical Psychology or equivalent
- Must be registered and hold the Clinical Psychology vocational scope of practice under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 or equivalent with a current Annual Practising Certificate
- A full NZ Driver’s License with no limitations
- Member of NZ Psychological Society or NZ College of Clinical Psychologists
- Evidence of continuing professional education
- Not less than 12 months of practical experience in clinical psychology in an appropriate setting (including practicum experience during training)
- Previous experience within a variety of clinical settings
- Experience with applied research
Location
South Auckland is an imprecisely defined urban area of Auckland, New Zealand, with a young population, a relatively large Polynesian and Mori demographics, and lower incomes than other parts of Auckland.
