Based in Palmerston North our client is seeking a highly motivated registered nurse to join their team as a Clinical Nurse Specialists for a temporary position to cover parental leave until March 2020.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Diabetes will function within the specialist of diabetes providing clinical expertise and nursing leadership in acute and specialist services across primary and secondary care practice settings. This position has a key focus on providing expert diabetes care to women with diabetes in pregnancy. However, we will also provide care for people with diabetes across the lifespan. This position covers the Manawatu region so travel may be a component of the role.
About you:
- Level 4 of the Local Professional Development Recognition Programme (Level 3 working towards Level 4 will be considered)
- Successfully completed relevant postgraduate papers, minimum post graduate diploma and preferably a Masters in Nursing
- Accredited via, or meets accreditation criteria of, the Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (NZNO) national accreditation process, and accredited via, or meets accreditation criteria of, the Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (NZNO) national accreditation process
- Achieved a minimum of ‘Proficient Diabetes Nurse’ on the National Diabetes Knowledge and Skills Framework (2018). as achieved a minimum of ‘Proficient Diabetes Nurse’ on the National Diabetes Knowledge and Skills Framework (2018)
Experience in diabetes care is preferred and knowledge of the local community and health care providers will be an advantage. You will have a commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, self-development, and professionalism
Hours of work:
- Hours of work will be 32 per week – Monday to Friday between 8.00am to 4.30pm
Police Clearance / Check(s):
Some appointments are subject to a Police Clearance which requires the applicant to complete a New Zealand Police Vetting Service Request and Consent Form. Additionally, overseas police checks may need to be applied for by the appointee if they have lived in any country other than New Zealand for 12 months or more within the last 12 years.
Shortlisted applicants will be advised of the requirement to undergo a New Zealand Police Clearance and provide overseas police clearance/s as a required.
