Our prestigious public hospital is seeking a full-time clinical nurse manager for our regional plastic surgery outpatient department. As this role has nursing and medical typist positions reporting to it and leadership and nursing qualifications are essential. This is a designated senior Grade 5 position.
As our new Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), you will be responsible for effectively managing systems, processes, and resources to enable staff to meet the needs of the service users in an efficient and effective manner. You will also be responsible for the management of people, systems, and resources within a defined care area to ensure that service delivery is of a high standard.
The position includes budget holding accountability and support for the Associate Director of Nursing and Service Manager with business planning and financial reporting of the service, as well as delegated responsibilities from the Associate Director of Nursing /Service Manager as required.
Our Clinical Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team and professional leadership of the nursing team, developing the nursing services and monitoring quality, including standards of practice and service standards. You will play an active role in the development and achievement of the strategic direction for the Plastic Surgery service and will implement Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) within the service when it becomes available.
Eligibility Criteria:
- RN Practising Certificate
- Post Graduate qualification
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NZ health system, the DHB environment, systems and processes
- Knowledge of the trends and emerging issues for the nursing profession.
- At least 4-5 years’ experience as an RN
- Recent experience in a nursing leadership position
- Recent experience in leading quality improvement initiatives
- Previous experience with staff management and recruitment
