Our public hospital is seeking midwives who want to lead a team of midwives who are professional and women-centered. You will bring proven leadership skills and be a role model for our Midwives. Knowledge of the NZ Maternity system and significant proven midwifery experience in secondary and tertiary care is essential.
Ward 98 is an antenatal/postnatal unit providing high-risk obstetric care to women with high-risk pregnancies and/ or medical conditions that complicate pregnancy, within a multidisciplinary team. This national referral unit provides care to women with complexities from across NZ and the Pacific.

Grafton is a city in the Northern Rivers region of the Australian state of New South Wales. It is located on the Clarence River, approximately 608 kilometers by road north-northeast of the state capital Sydney.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Midwifery Council of NZ registration
- NZ Midwifery Council APC
- Postgraduate qualification or enrolled in an appropriate course or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience and expertise in midwifery practice
- Minimum of five years’ experience post-registration
- Demonstrated competence in a leadership role
- Led or managed improvement projects or initiatives
- Budget management skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles
- Knowledge and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and implications for midwifery practice
- Proficient computer literacy
