Anaesthetic Technician - Theatres - Women's
We are the largest obstetric/gynaecology unit in Australasia. You would be working in a small team of fifteen anaesthetic technicians who enjoy each other’s company.Women’s Theatres, Level 9, Grafton and offer a real work-life balance. Including, teaching and training opportunities in high Quality clinical facilities, alongside an outdoor lifestyle with some of the most beautiful beaches and scenic landscape in New Zealand.
We are looking for experienced Anaesthetic Technicians / ODP’s to work for in our surgical services for a variety of specialities for Women. We are able to offer a variety of rostered Monday to Sunday 24/7 and on call.
In this position, if you have full registration, you will work as a skilled member of the team responsible for providing anaesthetic care to patients during the peri-operative phase.
You will be a qualified Anaesthetic /Technician / ODP / Nurse and will have:
- Motivation to provide high quality patient care
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Currently hold or be eligible for provisional or full registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- For overseas candidates - hold a New Zealand recognised qualification (RODP) (For eg: Diploma of Higher Education in Operating Department Practice, UK with at least 2 years’ experience).

Purpose of Position:
- To participate as a skilled professional member of the operating room team.
- To provide quality technical and clinical support to Anaesthetists and to assist in the preparation, care and application of equipment for the provision of anaesthesia.
- To participate in the education of trainee anaesthetic technicians
Education & Qualifications:
- Certificate in Anaesthetic Technology or equivalent (ODP)
Essential:
- NZ Reg Anaesthetic Technician with Medical Sciences Council
- Experience in related clinical setting.
- Able to take direction. Team Player. Ability to work unsupervised. Communication skills
